Colorado State Square Dance Association

The 2009 award recipients were provided with their badges and dangles early this spring. Then, the name of each individual was announced at the opening ceremony of the 2009 State Festival in Keystone. Representatives from Foot and Fiddle, Swing Thrus, Mountaineers, Merry Mixers and Hix and Chix were presented with a plaque recognizing the achievement of their club members. All award recipients were also showcased on a trifold photo display in the showcase of ideas at the State Festival, National Convention in Louisville KY and at USA West in Greeley.

We have now entered the final months of the 2010 Promoter year. There is still plenty of time for you to earn your individual award and for your club to earn one as well. Round dancers, don’t forget, you could also be eligible to earn these awards. The awards are not difficult to earn, you just need to remember to fill out the form and send it in by February 1, 2011.

Remember that the more we promote our favorite activity, the more “dancing friends” we make. It is up to us to spread the wealth, afterall, the majority of square dancers are dancing because, SOMEONE ASKED THEM!
