Colorado Square Dance Promoter Annual Report

We have now entered the early months of the 2012 promoter year. There are several changes as well as some clarifications on both the Club Level Form and the Individual Form.
This program which was established in an effort to help clubs recruit new dancers, make our activity more visible within our communities and to promote a greater level of participation among our dancers. The 2011 season produced a record number of clubs and individuals participating.
Take a minute, download the forms from this website (below) and place one on your refrigerator. Plan ahead, and I can almost guarantee that you will be able to earn this award. Club leaders, designate this as one of the priorities for your club in your 3R program. The club level program is right up your alley for Recruit/Retain/Regain.
All forms must be received by the program chairperson no later than February 1 of the year following the year of qualification.
Remember that the more we promote our favorite activity, the more "dancing friends" we make. It is up to us to spread the wealth, afterall, the majority of square dancers are dancing because, SOMEONE ASKED THEM!

Individual 2012 Requirements
2012 Individual Level Form (MS Word) - (.pdf)
Complete all three of the following
- Member of a Council Club
- Subscribe to Home Council Bulletin
- Attend a Home Council Sponsored Dance, demonstration or other special council activity.
Complete a minimum of 8 of the following 19 items (Indicate date and place where applicable
- Attend the Colorado State Festival
- Attend the CRDA Annual Gala
- Attend a dance sponsored by another Council
- Angel at club lessons
- Attend a dance at two (2) clubs outside of your home council area.
- Attend a Club, Council or Caller Association Sponsored Beginner Dance
- Attend the CSSDA Proclamation Dance at the State Capitol in September
- Hold a position of leadership in your club, council or the State Association.
- Participate in a Philanthropic activity (benefit dance or fund raiser)
- Attend a Home Council Meeting
- Attend a CSSDA Meeting
- Attend a Leadership Training Seminar
- Attend a State Festival or Special State Dance or Singles Festival in another state
- Attend a National Square Dance Convention
- Attend the USA West Convention
- Participate in the publication of a newsletter for your club, council or state
- Place an ad for a club/council or state activity on Facebook or other social network. Attach a print out of
your advertisement and the name of the network.
- Recruit, Regain or Retain at least one dancer for the year. An explanation of how you accomplished this
requirement must be attached.
- Attend a dance outside the CSSDA. Please list the city, state and date of visit
Club Level 2012 Requirements

Publish at least 4 items in a local, regional or national publication, a social website, or a public service advertisement on radio or television.
Complete a minimum of 5 out of the following 8 items:
- At least 4 articles or ads in your Council Area's Bulletin. Attach copies please
60% Council Bulletin Club: (60% of club membership subscribing to the Council Bulletin)
- Philanthropic activity (i.e. benefit dance, fund-raiser for needy persons or charities, scholarships, food
pantry collection, Adopt-A-Family,etc). Do not include activities related to club or festival fundraising. List
the activities.
- Minimum 1 square (8 dancers) at a home council sponsored dance
- Minimum 1 square (8 dancers) at the Colorado State Festival
- Participate as a club in a community event (parade, festival, etc.) ___________________________
- Host a dance for new dancers (preplanned and advertised as a beginner dance)
- Promote and host a dance for the purpose of promoting registrations for the current State Festival
Complete a minimum if 5 of 10
- Publish a monthly club newsletter. Please attach a copy
75% booster club at State Festival; (75% club membership attending State Festival)
- Host a national caller dance; List the caller's name________________________________________
- Have a current council officer or state festival chairman from club membership; __________________
- Have a current state officer or committee chairman from club membership; _____________________
- Conduct complete set of lessons, any level;
- Visit another council's special dance, with 1 square (8 dancers) minimum.______________________
- Host a council dance/meeting/activity or state association meeting or activity.___________________
- Host a dance for aspiring callers or cuers. _______________________________________________
- At least 3 times during the calendar year, entertain children or adults at a school, church, social activity,
nursing home, hospital or any other activity attended by the general public other than a community event.
