DUTIES OF DAS&RDC FLOAT CHAIRMAN 1. Keep and maintain all records for the Council float. 2. Distribute contracts for float rental and keep signed copy in record book. Collect check for the rental fee and another check for the deposit. Pass the rental fee and deposit on to the Council Treasurer. After the float has been returned and inspected, then instruct Treasurer to return deposit. 3. Coordinate pick-up and return of the float and inverter. Inspect the float and inverter for damages after use. 4. Take care of any maintenance needed, i.e., tires, paint, tarp, etc. Affix license plates or tags. Keep the inverter at the Chairman's home. 5. The St. Patrick's Parade is to be handled and arranged by the Float Chairman, as shown below: Send application in to St. Patrick's Parade Committee. Secure float dancers and notify them of the meeting place and time for the parade and what to wear. Arrange with Council Photographer to take pictures to go to the Bulletin and Council Historian. The Chairman will keep 10 ties and 10 hats for the men to wear in the parade. Ladies are requested to wear green and white and the men white shirts. Decorate the float. Store decorations and replace them, when necessary. Order parade dangles and present them to the flat dancers at the Council meeting, following the parade. Check with Insurance Chairman to see how much deposit will be required for rental and if an insurance certificate is required. 6. When passing this chairmanship over to a new chairman, assist them in understanding and handling the job. 7. If a report is given at a Council meeting, a copy is to be given to the Secretary.
