DUTIES OF DAS&RDC PRESIDENT

1.       Select committees.  Send list of committee chairpersons and new officers with   their addresses and phone numbers to the Bulletin Editor by May 1st, for publication in the June Bulletin.

2.       Make up a budget in August, with the help of the Treasurer the past Treasurer and the Auditor, to present to the Executive Board for their approval at the September E-Board meeting to be presented to the Council reps, for vote in September.

3.       Write President's letter monthly for the bulletin (due the 1st of each month).

4.       Set up Council meetings and reserve halls.  The contracts for the Presidents' Night, in September and the Anniversary Dance, in November are obtained a year in advance.

5.       In September, confer with Callers' Association and Executive Board, to obtain a large hall for the Fun, Friendship and Frolic Dance, usually held in late April or early May.

6.       Obtain a caller and cuer for the Anniversary Dance, for the next year, with the help of the Executive Board.  Get contracts for these.

7.       Send copy of Council meeting dates, places and callers to the Bulletin Editor and Calendar Editor.  Include the dates of special dances.  The Vice President will give you the list of callers for the Council meetings.  Keep a list in your notebook.

8.       Make up agenda for Council and Executive Board meetings.

9.       Set dates for Executive Board meetings and arrange for hosts.  Send a copy to the Bulletin Editor.  Keep a list in your notebook.

10.  Keep and display the Council Banner at all Council meetings.

11.  Let Vice President know what is going on, at all times, as well as the Executive Board.

12.  A letter should be included in each club President's pack, telling them when and where the Council meetings will be held.  They need to know that, to have perfect attendance for their club, for the year.  The 4 reps should arrive at the Council meeting on time and attend all meetings.  If unable to attend, a proxy should be sent to the meeting.

13.  The duties of the officers and committee chairpersons should be reviewed by the President, after the Directors have revised and edited them, with any corrections made before giving them to the Secretary to type.  Suggestions may be asked for, from the current officer or chairperson, as to any additions or deletions that need to be made.  Printed copies of duties should be made available to Nominating Committee, so nominees have an idea of what the job requires.

14.  At least three years in advance, of Denver's turn to host the State Festival, have the Executive Board appoint a Festival Chairman.

15.  Check with the State Council reps, as to when Denver hosts a CSSDA meeting.

16.  Schedule new officer orientation, for the Executive Board meeting, after April elections and before September meeting.  Be sure all officers and committee chairpersons (outgoing and incoming) are informed.

17.  Check with Secretary concerning stationery and the Treasurer, concerning money for stamps.
