2005 State Festival

As promised here is more information on this summer’s 2005 State Festival to help in your planning.  The dates are June 9 through 11.  The Festival is being held at West Minico Middle School near Paul, Idaho.  That’s just 2 miles north of Interstate 84 at exit 208 (Burley/Paul).  Self-contained RV parking will be available at the school with shower facilities provided.  There is a grassy area where tents can be put up.   There are three motels at exit 208 and one at exit 211.  Addresses and phone numbers are on the registration brochure.  The school’s food service people have agreed to provide meals at a nominal cost Friday and Saturday.  Continental breakfast buffet will be served from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.  Lunch will be served from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. and will be a salad bar one day and a baked potato bar the other.  Dinner will feature roast beef one day and ham the other being served between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.  Please sign up at the registration desk for any meals you want at the school so these ladies will have an idea how many to prepare for each meal.  Daytime snacks will also be available.

Two clothing venders will be available for your shopping needs:  Duds for Dudes and Dolls of Boise and Mondiki of Havasu City, Arizona.  There will also be a Caller/Cuer lounge available with security for records/equipment.

We hope you come early and attend the Trail’s End Dance that will feature Bob Fisk as Caller and our local cuers for your dancing pleasure.  Festival registration information can be found on the Federation’s web site or contact Jerry & Eleanor Washburn, 2451 Stadium Blvd, Twin Falls ID  83301 – jtwash@rmci.net

A note to Callers and Cuers: We know that not all Idaho Federation callers and cuers are listed on the web site or 2004 Directory, but that is the only lists we are able to come up with so, if you are not listed on one of those and want to be included in the program please contact Wilford Allison, 408 N 100 E, Jerome, ID 83338 – wallison@velocitus.net

While visiting South Central Idaho for the 2005 Festival remember these other attractions in the area.  Walcott Lake State Park, City of Rocks, Stricker Ranch, Rupert’s Historic Town Square, Snake River Canyon and Herritt Center observatory and planetarium on the College of Southern Idaho’s campus to name a few.
