My Story
I began square dancing in 1978 with the Memorial Hall Promenaders of Atchison, Kansas at the age of 11. One year later the calling bug bit me and I decided to give it a try.
I started calling easy figures for the local club. That summer I attended calling school under the direction of the late Dr. Karl Edwards of Lawrence, Kansas. The following summer
I attended his school again. Unknown to me at the time, a youth club was at that graduation dance looking for a new caller. They decided that I fit the bill and I began calling for
the Prison City Twirlers youth club in 1981. My home town club had re-organized, changed their name to the Riverbend Promenaders and hired me to be their club caller. By 1985, I was
the club caller for five clubs, had traveled throughout the Midwest calling dances and had attended several National Conventions. In 1986, I had to leave calling due to military commitments.
When my tour in the service was concluded, I picked up the microphone again. I
now live in Duluth with my wife Siiri and our son Ian. I own a consulting firm in
Duluth.
I am available to travel the entire Upper Midwest for your dance, festival or weekend. Send me an e-mail or check out my schedule and have a great time!!
