The Flushing Roadrunners hope to see you at their Nite Owl Dance on Saturday, June 7. The

dance starts at 8:00 P.M. and lasts until 1:00 A.M. Callers will be Larry Cole and Wayne

Pelmear. Johnnie Wynn will cue the rounds. A potluck dinner will be served at approximately

9:30. Cost is $15. There will be an Advanced Dance from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. that day.

Your ticket to the Nite Owl gets you into the Advanced Dance for free. Advanced Dance only

cost is $10. There will be Sloppy Joe’s and other nibbles at the Advanced Dance.

On May 21st the Roadrunners did double duty. At 9:00 A.M. we did an hour demo at the UAW

Senior Power Day at Crossroads Village. We had as many as four squares dancing at one

time. The dancers ranged from preteens to those who qualified for their AARP card a long

time ago. At 3:00 that afternoon we danced for the residents at Wynwood Senior Living in

Holly. Each tip we had one of the residents in the square. Some of the residents had danced

before and all enjoyed it thoroughly.

The Roadrunners will have a float in the Flushing Parade on June 1. Come see the daredevil

Square Dancers on the float dance the whole way -- even the downhill by St. Robert’s School.

This is the fifth year we have participated in the parade. The parade starts at 7:00. We hope

to see you there.

There is a Mainstream-only Dance on the Tuesday, June 3, from 7:30 until 9:30. At 6:30 there

will be a Beginners Dance where all of the calls you need to know will be taught that night. This

is a good opportunity to bring someone who is curious about Square Dancing or someone

who just wants to get an hour of a new experience.

The Basic class starts at 6:30 and lasts until 7:30 every Tuesday except the first Tuesday of the
