ABOUT US

Here we are, a diverse and happy bunch

We are young and old, single and married, “snowbirds” and fulltime Coloradoans, but we ALL love to dance! Foot and Fiddle was founded in 1960 and have not stopped dancing since! Why do we love to dance?

We dance for the fellowship. No matter where you go you can always find friends on the square dance floor. When you are new they make you welcome; when you are down their enthusiasm lifts you up. We dance for the health benefits. It’s good for your bones, good for your heart, good for your mind! Did you know that square dancing can add 10 years to your life! But most importantly, we dance because we just can’t resist.  It’s FUN — from the warm hugs to the dessert table to the laughter on the floor.

As members of the Loveland community, we like to support local events. Each year we participate in the Larimer County Fair and Parade.  We danced our way down main street. It was hot but not hotter than us! This year we took first place in the non-profit division.

Another way we support our Loveland community is with our annual “Toys for Tots” dance.  Each December we host a dance and ask each dancer to bring a toy to donate.  These toys are given to the Loveland Police Department to dispense to children experiencing hardships during  the Christmas season.

We are also part of the Northeast Colorado Council of Square Dance clubs. With our dancing community we share helping new clubs get started and old clubs carry-on.

This year as part of the council, we helped provide a booth at the Larimer County Fair  to promote square dancing and lessons.  One hundred and seven people signed up to find out more about square dancing! And THANKS to all the club callers, 82 of us facilitated audience participation dancing during the fair.
