Happy New Year from the Swing Thru's. How are you doing on your New Year's Resolutions? I had a friend spend $400 last year to join a health club. She hasn't lost a pound because she found out the gimmick is that you have to show up. |
| We are so proud of our class, they worked hard this fall and increased the classes to 2.5 hours a week and are now gleaming the results of graduated dances. We welcome Ray, Elizabeth, Sharon, James, Laura, Karen, Mike, Jamie, and Kaye to this fun world of fun and exercise. Did you know that the advantage of exercising every day is that you die healthier. My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. She's 89 now, and now we don't know where she is. |
| Swing Thru's have a great year planned for 2003. Our first dance is a Beginners Hoedown, on Friday, January 3, 2003, featuring our own Jim and Betty Falk. We hope to see everyone including lots of experienced dancers. We need to show the beginners how much fun dancing is and how friendly Square Dancers can be. See you there. |
| You may want to know what my exercise regime is. I have to exercise in the morning before my brain figures out what I'm doing. I like long walks, especially when people who annoy me take them. Being single, the only reason I would take up jogging is so that I could hear heavy breathing again. |
| After our Hoedown, the 2nd Swing Thru's dance for 2003 is on January 17th. This dance will feature Shirley Wright on Squares and Ty Rotruck on Rounds. Just in case you need some excuses for not exercising here are a few. I don't exercise at all. If God meant us to touch our toes, he would have put them further up our body. I don't jog. It makes the ice jump right out of my glass. |

Well so long for this month. Remember, if you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country. |
