Swing Thru’s – October 2003

In October the Swing Thru’s go back to their “normal” schedule of dancing on the 1st and 3rd Fridays.  We have enjoyed having some time off this summer and many of us have spent our time Square Dancing at other clubs.  We have a few banners and we always have a banner available for your club to steal.  We hope you remember to keep us in mind when you put your banner-stealing calendar together.

We all have our pet peeves.  This month I am including some from the pet’s perspective.

Dog: They keep putting the lid down on the big water bowl.

Dog: Human legs that just tease.

Dog: "Man, why do they keep rubbing my nose in it?  I already KNOW whose it is!"

In September we had our club meeting at a Chinese Buffet.  We had a great time eating and meeting.  We participated in the Gateway to the Rockies Parade, whose theme this year was “Aurora Renaissance”.  The theme for our float was “King Greig and his Royal Square Dancer’s”.  Be sure to bow to Greig the next time you see him.

Goldfish: "Just because I have a three-second memory, they  don't think I'll mind
eating the same  fish  flakes ...  Oh  boy!  Fish flakes!"

Goldfish: "The wimp-ass knight never comes out of the castle  to fight me for
dominion over the fish tank. So I must continue patrolling, for I am lord and master!"

Swing Thru’s have two great dances planned for October.  On October 3, 2003, we will be featuring the calling (and beautiful singing voice) of Debbie Steinkirchner.  Betty Falk will cue this dance.  Although it is a little early, we will be having a Halloween Dance on October 17, 2003.  Bear “Jack-O-Lantern” Miller will be calling this dance along with Carolyn “Black Cat” Myers on Rounds.

Parrot: "Tease, tease, tease!  But do those greedy clowns ever really give me a cracker?  HECK, no!"

The Swing Thru’s Dance start with Rounds at 7:30 p.m. with Squares at 8:00 p.m.  We dance at the Victory Grange at 2025 Tower Road.  This is just South of I-70 and Tower Road.  We have a wonderful wood floor and have some great refreshments planned for you.  Hope that you can join us soon.

Cat: "Why are these people in my house?"
